How has it helped my organization?

It enhanced productivity and business efficiency.

It is highly recommended for remote connecting within and outside organisation.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Webex since 2015. I used it initially in my previous company until 2020, then I joined my current company, and the tool is still being used here.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Webex is a stable tool.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Webex is a scalable tool.

How are customer service and support?

It's our IT team who contacts the Webex technical support team and we're getting good support from our IT team, so this directly implies that Webex offers good technical support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

Webex is very easy to set up, and any person can use it, as it has a user-friendly interface.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't have information on Webex pricing because I'm just a user, and I wasn't involved in purchasing the product, but from 2015 to 2020, in my previous company, I used the paid version of the tool, but today, in my current company, it's the free version of Webex that's being used.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated Teams and Skype apart from Webex.

What other advice do I have?

Webex is deployed on the private cloud and my company uses it to connect with people remotely, whether it's a company employee, a training provider, or a third party such as a customer.

Approximately five hundred people use the tool in my company.

The advice I would give to others looking to start using WebEx is to go for it because it is a versatile tool that connects you with another person easily, remotely. It's also a very user-friendly tool and there's no issue in terms of setting up and accessing WebEx, so overall, I can tell people to go ahead and buy it.

My rating for Webex is eight out of ten.

Offers a straightforward initial setup phase
Pros and Cons
  • "The product's initial setup phase is very straightforward."
  • "The high price of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."

What is our primary use case?

In our company, we had to increase the usage of Webex after we found out that when we were using Cisco's teleconference software, external users could not join meetings. When I create a meeting in Webex, my company can hold meetings and use teleconference software.

What needs improvement?

From an improvement perspective, Webex should be able to have recording features.

From an improvement perspective, it should be possible to integrate Webex with other platforms.

The high price of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have experience with Webex for years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a very stable solution. I rate the solution's stability a six out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is an easily scalable solution.

I don't know how many people in my company use the product. I conduct most of the meetings with the help of the tool for around 50 to 100 users. I also need to consider how some people prefer Zoom while others prefer Webex.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase is very straightforward.

The solution is deployed on the cloud.

The solution can be deployed once a user downloads, installs, takes care of the setup of a meeting, and then arranges for a device to attend it.

The solution can be deployed in less than ten minutes.

What about the implementation team?

The product can be deployed with the help of the company's in-house team.

What was our ROI?

The product is worth the investment since it helps our company to hold meetings and other business-related sessions for people to attend. In my opinion, the ROI of the product is fine.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is a need to buy a subscription-based license to use the product. You need to make yearly payments towards the licensing charges of the product. You need to opt for a subscription-based licensing model for your organization. The product is a bit expensive.

What other advice do I have?

In our company's day-to-day business operation, we use Webex to hold our internal meetings and for those who want to join certain meetings remotely. The tool is connected to two offices, the head office and a branch. The teleconference software part of Webex allows external users who need to join a meeting. Sometimes, Zoom or Microsoft Teams can be used as alternatives if there are some stability issues with Webex. One can switch between the options.

Webex has simplified remote work in our company the same way Zoom has helped us. Webex has helped with the meeting part, specifically virtual meetings. It has helped ease business. I also have to ensure that our staff or external execs join Webex sessions without any issues.

Speaking about the most valuable aspect of the product for team collaboration, I find the whiteboards and control or the ability to share, especially when troubleshooting with a remote user, useful. Webex allows its users to easily share screens with other users, so users can look at the screen to see what the other person or user is doing.

I have not tried the integration of Webex with Zoom. If people from Zoom and Webex can join a meeting together there would be a lesser need to set up for a meeting. Anybody with Webex or Microsoft Teams can still join the same meeting that has been set up on Zoom. The ability to join a meeting should not depend on which application one uses.

The video quality of the product is good. There has been a lot of improvement in the tool's video quality.

I think the tool has security features because most of the calls on it are encrypted, so you can be sure that nobody is trying to listen or eavesdrop on the different sessions you have on the product. Depending on how a host o has set up the meeting, others can join and connect easily. When you closely look at the sessions in the tool, I think the tool has improved, and everything seems fine.

I suggest others start using the product since they can see added features in the product over a period of time. I recommended the product to those who plan to use it.

I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

Offers good integration capabilities but needs to improve the scalability features offered
Pros and Cons
  • "The product's initial setup phase was straightforward."
  • "The scalability and voice quality attached to the solution are areas of concern where improvements are required."

What is most valuable?

The solution's most valuable feature stems from its ability to help us connect to meetings, specifically team meetings, where we can discuss issues related to our company.

What needs improvement?

Webex has issues. If you use Zoom on Microsoft Team, Webex can look complicated since, at times, voice or audio is an area that may not be very clear. Problems start when a large number of users try to use the solution, but it starts to function better automatically when the count of the people involved in the product comes down, making it seem like a not-so-scalable tool. The scalability and voice quality attached to the solution are areas of concern where improvements are required.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Webex for ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is not a scalable solution.

Most of the users of the tool in my company are hosts, while there can be many attendees in a meeting. The host submits a single link for all to join a meeting. A host can also add a co-host to the meeting.

Around 100 people in my company use the product.

The product is not used on a regular basis.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Nowadays, my company prefers to use Microsoft Teams over Webex, especially if there are only 10 to 25 people needed in a meeting.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase was straightforward. During the setup phase, even a mobile app was available.

The solution can be deployed on the cloud.

The solution can be deployed in around five minutes.

What about the implementation team?

The solution was deployed with the help of our company's in-house team since we had only to download it from the product's website.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

To host meetings with the product's help, you must pay the annual subscription licensing fees attached to the solution. The charges attached to the subscriptions of the product are okay. There are no extra charges to be paid in addition to the standard licensing fees.

What other advice do I have?

Speaking about the use of Webex in our company's day-to-day business operations, I would say that we primarily use Webex's interface for video, but the audio part is used separately with audio devices. A separate device needs to be used so that our company can connect to the audio part of the solution while the video part can be used in Webex's application. The audio and video are separately connected when using the product so that the audio issues attached to Webex can be eliminated.

Speaking about how the product has simplified remote work in our company, I would say that we use Webex to connect to meetings and for training. The tool is also useful for making announcements, especially if there are any issues faced by our remote workforce since it allows us to access their devices remotely.

The video quality of the product is okay, in my opinion.

The product's security features are good.

Webex is available on the mobile app, so you just can create and attend meetings through the solution's application.

I won't recommend the product to those who plan to use it.

The integration capabilities of the product are good.

I rate the tool a seven out of ten.

Enables easy communication, and the video conferencing quality is good
Pros and Cons
  • "The video conferencing quality is better than that of other solutions."
  • "Webex is limited to Cisco."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for everything. It is used by engineers. They use the tool for communication within the team and for video calls with the customers. It provides chat, instant calling, and messaging features. Everything is integrated into Webex.

How has it helped my organization?

Webex is used by Cisco worldwide. All the companies that have Cisco engines will have Webex. It is a common tool for easy communication.

What is most valuable?

Webex is a good solution. It is a handy tool. Sharing is easy. Contacting multiple users at a time is easy. It is quite useful. It is a strong product. The video conferencing quality is better than that of other solutions. Webex has the upper hand on everything because it runs on Cisco.

What needs improvement?

Webex is limited to Cisco. It is a good and a bad thing. It is okay for security reasons. We will get access to the product only if we are a Cisco user.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for eight years.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is a bit difficult. It is quite technical.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Some companies use Microsoft Teams.

What other advice do I have?

We are customers and partners. Overall, I rate the product a ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Powerful with convenient recording feature and useful mobile app option
Pros and Cons
  • "Seamless integration with Microsoft Outlook."
  • "No private chat option."

What is our primary use case?

We used Webex extensively, several times a day, for internal and external meetings as well as web and video conferencing. I'm a transformation program manager and we're a customer of Webex.

What is most valuable?

I really liked the seamless integration with Microsoft Outlook, so that I could schedule meetings. The Microsoft login was pretty convenient. The recording feature was very convenient and I had the mobile app as well which was an added convenience for me.

What needs improvement?

We had one problematic issue and that was with the recordings that were kept on the web. Initially they were auto archiving but then recordings were getting deleted after three months and we weren't aware of that change in their policy. I lost a lot of my recordings and I think they should have a longer retention period for the recordings.

A private chat option would be a good addition to the solution. If you're in the middle of a meeting and you want to have a private chat with someone, it can be a useful feature.

For how long have I used the solution?

I used this solution for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In most cases, the solution is stable although a couple of times we had issues with the audio conferencing feature for people who tried joining on their phones. On the whole there were no problems.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I believe scalability is good. We have 30,000 employees in our company and probably around 10,000 were using Webex. An IT team manages the solution.

How are customer service and technical support?

I contacted Webex technical support after the recordings were deleted but they weren't able to retrieve them for me. It was very unfortunate because I had no other record of those meetings and they couldn't resolve that for me because the meetings had been deleted. That was the only time I contacted technical support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Prior to Webex we used an audio conferencing solution called Arkadin. We only switched to web conferencing when we moved to Cisco Webex. We had also used Skype but it wasn't very effective. We would use audio Arkadin conferencing and if we needed to screen share we'd use Skype.

We are now using Zoom and it seems Zoom requires more customizations than Webex. Zoom required setting changes before allowing everyone to join meetings and the default settings were not good. Zoom does have the private chat option which Webex doesn't have and I found that very useful.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was quite straightforward and convenient. We managed the deployment and setup ourselves.

What other advice do I have?

This is a good software and a powerful tool, I don't have any complaints.

I would rate this solution a nine out of 10.

The solution’s pricing could be improved.

I have been using Webex for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution’s stability an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Around five users are using Webex in our organization.

I rate the solution a seven out of ten for scalability.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We use Microsoft Teams and Google Meet simultaneously.

How was the initial setup?

On a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy, I rate the solution's initial setup a seven out of ten.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented the solution in our organization through a reseller. The solution’s deployment took a few hours.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

We are satisfied with the way Webex handles large-scale virtual events. We do not use Webex too often. We use it once a week or once every two weeks. We did not face any problems with Webex's video quality. The solution's security and privacy features met our organization's requirements. Webex is deployed on the cloud in our organization.

I would recommend Webex to other users because it is a reliable solution.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Helps to collaborate with team in real-time, share screens, and use a whiteboard
Pros and Cons
  • "Webex helps us collaborate better. We can work with customers and our team in real-time, share screens, and use a whiteboard. It's been really helpful."

    What is most valuable?

Webex helps us collaborate better. We can work with customers and our team in real-time, share screens, and use a whiteboard. It's been really helpful.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for two to three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the product's scalability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the tool's scalability a nine out of ten. Our organization uses Webex, and its users include project managers, development team leads, and consultants like myself.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't contacted the technical support yet.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used GoTo Meeting before Webex. I do have confidence in Cisco technology since we've used Cisco switches and support in the past, so Webex, being from Cisco, seems promising.

    How was the initial setup?

I would rate my experience with the initial setup as a nine out of ten. It was very easy and straightforward, and I've always had a good experience with it.
Webex is deployed in our organization primarily for consultants and teams. Whenever a customer requires us to discuss certain products or topics, we use the tool to facilitate those discussions and bring everyone together for meetings.

The deployment is quick. We download it from the web, install it, and start using it. There's no extensive company-wide deployment of the tool in our organization. It's primarily used by consultants engaging with customers who prefer Webex for meetings. I've never initiated a Webex meeting myself. Typically, it takes less than five minutes from downloading to join a meeting.

What other advice do I have?

I've been using Webex to meet customer requirements. I tend to use Zoom for team-related activities. However, if the customer prefers Webex, Zoom, or Teams, we adapt accordingly.

I'm using a hybrid setup, including on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. Our approach is driven by customer requirements because we prioritize serving our customers. We support platforms like Azure, AWS, and private or hybrid cloud, including on-premises deployments.

I rate the product a nine out of ten.

Virtual meeting, video conferencing, and collaboration tool which offers easy setup and deployment, ease of use, and top-notch support
    Pros and Cons
    • "Stable and scalable solution for video conferencing, virtual meetings, and collaboration, with top-notch technical support."
    • "There were some latency issues that could have been addressed if they had a data center in our location, e.g. the African region."

    What is most valuable?

One of the best things about Webex which I liked was that it was simple and to the point. It separated its video conferencing capabilities from other extra capabilities, so you had two different products for the virtual meetings and for collaboration. This separation, these different products, made it easy to do what you wanted to do, and to get to the point of what you wanted to do.

    What needs improvement?

The only reason why we could not stay with Webex was because they didn't have a data center in the African region. There were latency issues as well, so we couldn't continue using the tool. These are its areas for improvement. Other than these issues, there's no other area for improvement, because Webex is good the way it is.

Having a data center in the African region will help improve the latency issues, without incurring additional costs. There is a way that you can improve the latency issues, but you have to buy hardware from Cisco to put into your data center. Not a lot of companies would like to do that.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used Webex a year ago, for six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We found the stability of this solution satisfying.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We were satisfied with the scalability of Webex.

How are customer service and support?

My rating for Cisco tech support is ten out of ten. Bruno, who handled our issues, was top-notch. Anything we needed, Bruno was on top of it. He was top-notch, so 100%, it's a ten out of ten.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup and deployment of Webex was easy and straightforward. It was on point, and there were no issues.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

    I evaluated Microsoft Teams.

What other advice do I have?

We used an open-source license for Webex.

We had 2,500 users of Webex. The meetings we had using it had a maximum of 2,500 users.

I'm rating Webex a ten out of ten, functionality-wise.
