Has outdated technology and chat button is difficult to find
Pros and Cons
  • "The transcripts from Webex calls get delivered to the inbox five minutes after the call. However, out of 20 people on a call, maybe only one person bothers to read through the entire transcript, which can be lengthy for an hour-long call."
  • "Although we utilize it for team collaboration, it's not very efficient. Most people don't bother turning on their video during meetings. We feel stuck in the past, relying on outdated technology."

What is most valuable?

The transcripts from Webex calls get delivered to the inbox five minutes after the call. However, out of 20 people on a call, maybe only one person bothers to read through the entire transcript, which can be lengthy for an hour-long call.

What needs improvement?

Although we utilize it for team collaboration, it's not very efficient. Most people don't bother turning on their video during meetings. We feel stuck in the past, relying on outdated technology.

We had 20 people on a call, and whenever someone wanted to use the chat, they struggled to find the button. It was like a constant hunt for the chat feature, especially when you're presenting. It could feel quite desperate at times.

What other advice do I have?

I haven't used Webex's file-sharing and messaging features much. Our work involves sensitive information, so we rely on other platforms for file sharing. However, Teams is an exception, where we occasionally share files and information, mainly through the chat function. I rate the overall product a two out of ten.

What is most valuable?

Webex is a good tool for collaboration. It has mail exchange features. We can have team meetings and video conferences. The interactive sections are good. We can have online sessions. We can use the solution to conduct discussions and presentations. The video quality is good.

What needs improvement?

The solution is not as user-friendly as other collaboration tools. The user interface is not easy to use. The navigation of the solution is different from other products. It is a challenge. Integrating the product is not as easy as other collaboration tools because specific APIs must be deployed for integration. The user experience must be improved. It will be helpful if the vendor provides better training manuals.

I have been using the solution for six years.

Improves team collaboration within businesses and offers integration capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The product improves team collaboration in our company since it integrates with Microsoft Teams or other vendors."
  • "The product's user interface is an area with shortcomings, making it an area where improvements are required."

What is our primary use case?

I use Webex in my company to optimize communication and meetings.

What needs improvement?

The product's user interface is an area with shortcomings, making it an area where improvements are required.

In the future, I would like to see Webex provide integration capabilities with Microsoft.

The quality of the services offered by the support team needs to be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Webex for two or three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability-wise, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Though I am not sure, I feel that the tool does not allow an increase in the number of users.

In our company, we use around 30 rooms in the product. Depending on the size of the room, somewhere between 10 to 30 people can attend a meeting in Webex.

How are customer service and support?

I have experience with the solution's technical support. I rate the technical support a seven out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

In comparison to Webex and Microsoft Teams, I feel that Zoom is better.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase was complex.

The solution is deployed on the cloud. For mobile phones, my company uses the on-premises version of the product.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate the product price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is high price, and ten is low price.

What other advice do I have?

The product improves team collaboration in our company since it integrates with Microsoft Teams or other vendors. The last time I studied Cisco CVI was to know about how to integrate it with Microsoft Teams.

Our company prefers Webex and Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings since both tools offer valuable functionalities. My company uses Microsoft Teams since we have licenses like Office 365 E1 or Microsoft 365 E3. Though my company installs Webex for Cisco Room Bar, our organization uses Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings.

The video and audio quality offered by the product is okay. The staff members in my company are comfortable using Microsoft Teams. Webex is a bit difficult to use for the staff members in my company.

I rate the tool an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

Helps to save time by conducting meetings in a hybrid setup
Pros and Cons
  • "The tool simplifies our work by allowing us to have hybrid meetings instead of always meeting in person, which saves time in organizing these meetings. It also offers good video quality."
  • "The product needs to improve its integration. I'm not sure how difficult it is for the IT team to set up the integration. Once set up, it's easy but still not as straightforward as other platforms, like Microsoft Teams, where everything is within the same technical environment. To ensure further security, face authentication should also be added for all internal corporate users logged into the platform."

What is our primary use case?

We use the tool for internal and client meetings, webinars, and presentations.

What is most valuable?

The tool simplifies our work by allowing us to have hybrid meetings instead of always meeting in person, which saves time in organizing these meetings. It also offers good video quality.

Webex helps to prevent unwanted guests from popping up in your meeting.
The video quality is fine, and I wouldn't expect it to be better. I'm not sure about the computing resources required to optimize the video delivery, though.

On Webex, I find the option to capture the talking points of each participant valuable. Also, features like adding emojis during live presentations help in getting live feedback from participants.

The security features are quite robust because they allow you only to permit entry from participants authorized by the organizer.

What needs improvement?

The product needs to improve its integration.  I'm not sure how difficult it is for the IT team to set up the integration. Once set up, it's easy but still not as straightforward as other platforms, like Microsoft Teams, where everything is within the same technical environment. To ensure further security, face authentication should also be added for all internal corporate users logged into the platform.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for a few years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Webex is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The tool is scalable since it can support big audiences. My company has 30 users, but I've worked in previous corporations where we had tens of thousands of users.

How was the initial setup?

The tool's deployment is complex compared to other platforms. It needs to be more user-friendly in this area. It took about 10-15 minutes to complete.

What about the implementation team?

As a user, the corporation may need an integrator to configure the setup.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The tool's licensing is expensive, but it should be cheaper.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the overall solution a nine out of ten.

Is user-friendly and offers good security features
Pros and Cons
  • "The product's initial setup phase was straightforward."
  • "All the features are not enabled in the web mode of the product."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution in my company for internal meetings, technical discussions, and knowledge transfer sessions.

What is most valuable?

The product offers a whiteboard feature, which you can use in meetings to provide explanations. Even in a remote place, if my company is showing someone a complex web application, we can just point out the exact options in the menu bar from our side. If you are sharing the screen and you are unable to find a particular menu from our company's side, we can just use a marker and tick it to tell them the spot they need to check. The tool's support features are very beneficial to customers.

What needs improvement?

All the features are not enabled in the web mode of the product. From an improvement perspective, all the features need to be enabled in the web mode instead of asking users to install the application.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Webex for three to four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The company did not experience any lags in terms of the product's stability and performance. Stability-wise, I rate the solution between eight and nine out of ten.

To be able to use some of the features provided by the product, a user gets forced to install the application. If you are a host of a meeting and you send me an invite to attend it, after which, if I join it via the web, I would be unable to use many of the product's features, like the sharing of screens. I am forced to install the application to use the features of the product. The entire feature set of the tool is not available in the web mode.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Around 20 people in my company use the product. The product is mostly used by technical people who need to present something in meetings and the other top management personnel who conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Only the host or presenter of the meeting would have the tool's account.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase was straightforward.

The solution can be deployed in a few minutes.

What other advice do I have?

It is a user-friendly tool. Even if you share the link to a meeting with Webex with some ex-users of the tool, it is still easy for them to join the meeting via its website without having to install the application.

The product has helped simplify the area of remote work in my company.

For team collaboration, the product provides a good experience for our company.

The video, sound, and conferencing quality offered by the product are good.

At my company, we have a touchpad set up in our boardroom, so connecting to meetings via Webex is easy.

From a technical perspective, I recommend the product to others. From a cost-based perspective, I am not sure if I would recommend the product to others since I don't know whether Teams, Zoom, or Webex are low-price options.

With the features of the product that I have used so far, I can say that the integration capabilities of the tool are good.

The product's security features are good.

I rate the tool an eight to nine out of ten.

The price of Webex is in the middle range compared to the market.

What other advice do I have?

Inside Webex, there exists a feature known as "At Hub." This feature is accompanied by a new browser that offers an array of impressive features and gadgets. Moreover, it enables you to incorporate these elements into your own website. I highly recommend giving it a try and utilizing the app assistance available to explore the extensive range of excellent products within the Webex hub. You're bound to be pleasantly surprised by what awaits you there.

Many customers are already utilizing Cisco phones, which offers a significant advantage. By using a Cisco phone, they can effortlessly join Webex meetings or video conferences through their designated video test or conference endpoint. However, it's important to note that this capability is also available with other platforms like Zoom and similar services.
