We use this solution for video conferencing.

Compared to GoToMeeting Google Duo, Google Hangouts, and TeamViewer, I find that Zoom is generally more stable, easier to use and has more features

- "When a lot of people join a meeting it is not possible to shrink the pictures and show them on a single screen."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The video conferencing is very smooth and it is easy to share content.
Zoom is stable and easy to use.
What needs improvement?
When a lot of people join a meeting it is not possible to shrink the pictures and show them on a single screen. Instead, we have to scroll to another screen. It would be nice if we could resize the frame.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Zoom for two weeks.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Zoom is a stable solution.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
This is a scalable video conferencing product. We have 278 users and I have tried having 70 people in a single conference, which worked well.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
In addition to Zoom, we also use Webex. I have found that sharing material is much easier in Zoom. In fact, we tried using Webex with our partner and they could not share material but with Zoom, they could do it.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There is a 40-minute time limit when you use the basic version, which is free. The limit is for meetings with three or more people.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have tried several solutions including Google Duo, Google Hangouts, GoToMeeting, and TeamViewer. I find that Zoom is generally more stable and easier to use than other solutions, and it also has more features.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to anybody who is considering this solution is to try the basic version for free. I highly recommend it.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

Cost-effective, straightforward to install, and works reliably for casual meetings
Pros and Cons
- "Zoom is stable and I haven't had any problems with it."
- "The security can be improved because this is one of the reasons that my organization prefers to use Skype."
What is our primary use case?
My role in the company involves the infrastructure domain, and in this position, I use Zoom for video conferencing. I also use Zoom at home for meetings.
What needs improvement?
The security can be improved because this is one of the reasons that my organization prefers to use Skype. There are concerns about security.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Zoom for perhaps three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Zoom is stable and I haven't had any problems with it.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Two of us at home use this product, and we don't expect our usage to increase. Nobody is needed for maintenance because none is required.
I cannot discuss the number of users that we have in my organization.
How are customer service and support?
I have never had a problem that required me to contact technical support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I also have experience with using Skype for Business. I use that solution more in my organization, and use Zoom more for personal communications.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
I installed it myself.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I am using the free version, so I don't pay anything to use it.
What other advice do I have?
I don't use Zoom on a daily basis but in general, I'm satisfied with it. This is a product that I recommend, although I'm using it casually and as such, I don't have high expectations.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

Senior Executive at a computer software company with 10,001+ employees
Easy to use, accessible, and offers a free tier of service
Pros and Cons
- "All you need is a laptop or mobile device and a connection to the internet."
- "There were times on the free version where I wasn't done the meeting and it just took me out. They need to give more time."
What is most valuable?
The pricing is good if you have multi-stations or multi-users accessing it. It's got a free tier and is easy to use.
The one thing I like about Zoom is that you don't need to do anything by phone. All you need is a laptop or mobile device and a connection to the internet. Now you just use the computers and can use the audio, speaker, and microphone that are already there. You don't need a separate phone like as to do for Webex.
What needs improvement?
The issue is the amount of time you can use the product on the free version. They are limiting Zoom for 50 minutes, maybe. There were times on the free version where I wasn't done the meeting and it just took me out. They need to give more time.
The performance and the quality of the picture could be better. They should work on making it faster as well. When you are using it at home, the bandwidth can be slowed down if someone else is using your connection. They need to have better compression.
It asks for a membership ID sometimes. The security needs to be better and more consistent. I'm not sure how they are making sure that everything is secure.
I'd like to be able to do multi-sessions and bring people into the conference call quickly. I'd like to be able to say, if we have a few people in the session, "okay, I just want to talk to person A and B" and have the other people leave the space for a minute and then be able to come back in. It would be great if there were middle rooms of some sort where people could come in and out quickly.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for almost a year now.
How are customer service and support?
I have not had any contact with technical support. Technical support is bad everywhere due to the fact that it's just on the internet and they don't have enough manpower to support everyone properly. When you try to reach you cannot get a human being.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We also used WebEx. It used to be really good, however, they cluttered it and really messed it up.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution has a free tier, which is what I use. I don't pay anything.
What other advice do I have?
I'm just a customer and an end-user.
I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. I'm happy with its capabilities.

I'm pretty satisfied with the user interface
Pros and Cons
- "I've never had to use tech support for it. It just works."
- "My company uses the Zoom security setting that requires the host to admit users. The host often forgets to do that, so you sometimes have a lot of people sitting out there. It would be nice if Zoom made it obvious that somebody is in the waiting room."
What is our primary use case?
Most of my organization uses Zoom. I'm in sales and everyone in this department uses it. Tech and sales use a combination of Zoom and Teams. Occasionally, we might use something like a Cisco WebEx when the customer requires it. For example, we deal with federal government clients and intelligence agencies, and they have strict requirements for communications security.
What is most valuable?
I'm pretty satisfied with Zoom's user interface.
What needs improvement?
My company uses the Zoom security setting that requires the host to admit users. The host often forgets to do that, so you sometimes have a lot of people sitting out there. It would be nice if Zoom made it obvious that somebody is in the waiting room. Also, Zoom could add the ability to have multiple users share screens.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using Zoom for at least two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Zoom does seem to use a fair amount of resources on your system. If you have other apps open, the audio can get really choppy sometimes if you try to do something else, like send an email. I did not notice this until just recently, so I don't know if this is something Zoom changed or if my system needs to be updated.
How are customer service and support?
I've never had to use tech support for it. It just works.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before we started using Zoom, we were using WebEx. Quite honestly, I think the reason the company switched was purely political.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Zoom nine out of 10.

Useful for virtual meetings and training sessions where instructors can teach thousands of people
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable features for me are the spotlight feature and the ability to share video with audio, which some other platforms, like Microsoft Teams, lack. We use it to present sessions and teach end customers or users."
- "The tool could be more user-friendly, especially for finding options to present screens."
What is our primary use case?
I use Zoom for virtual meetings and training sessions where instructors can teach thousands of people.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features for me are the spotlight feature and the ability to share video with audio, which some other platforms, like Microsoft Teams, lack. We use it to present sessions and teach end customers or users.
What needs improvement?
The tool could be more user-friendly, especially for finding options to present screens.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for six to seven years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I'd rate Zoom's stability as ten out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
For scalability, I'd rate Zoom nine to ten out of ten. My company has 700 users. We don't plan to increase usage as we're close to our license limit.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before Zoom, we used Microsoft Teams but switched due to limitations with large audiences and a lack of features.
How was the initial setup?
I'd rate the initial setup about seven out of ten for ease. We deploy Zoom on the cloud, which takes about five to six minutes to install. It's a simple process of running an executable file with a few clicks. We don't need additional settings or many people for maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution is affordable.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate Zoom a ten out of ten.

Reliable product with an easy installation process
Pros and Cons
- "The platform has a solid feature for scheduling short meetings worth 30 minutes."
- "They could address the product's limitation of the free version, particularly the 40-minute time constraint on meetings."
What is our primary use case?
We use Zoom to schedule meetings with internal team members and external partners.
What is most valuable?
The platform has a solid feature for scheduling short meetings worth 30 minutes.
What needs improvement?
They could address the product's limitation of the free version, particularly the 40-minute time constraint on meetings.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is a stable platform. I rate the stability a ten out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have around 11 Zoom users in our organization. We use it from time to time depending on the requirement. I rate the scalability a ten out of ten.
How was the initial setup?
It is easy to deploy and takes five minutes to complete the process. It involves installing the application on the desktop, signing up, and creating a meeting room.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We use the free version of the product. We utilize it only three to four times a month.
What other advice do I have?
The platform provides the easiest way to install or sign up the account. We can then schedule the meeting with an agenda and send an invite email to the attendees. It is a reliable product and offers enough services for our business requirements in terms of productivity.
I advise others to purchase Zoom’s license for unlimited meeting durations. The free version is enough for us, particularly for a spam-free environment with limited internal or external collaborations.
I rate it a ten out of ten.

Used for meetings and collaboration, but it should include the automatic transcribing feature
Pros and Cons
- "Zoom has helped me with collaboration and remote working."
- "Zoom should also include features like the automatic transcribing of conversations."
What is our primary use case?
Sometimes, I use Zoom when I meet with some of my customers who are using Zoom for meetings and collaboration.
What is most valuable?
I like the fact that you can run Zoom on the browser as well as the native app so that you can quickly run it on any platform. Zoom has helped me with collaboration and remote working.
What needs improvement?
Zoom should also include features like the automatic transcribing of conversations. It allows you to record the video of a meeting, but it doesn't have the ability to automatically transcribe the conversation into text. Sometimes, I have issues with using the app on different browsers, like Safari on Mac.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Zoom for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution’s stability is fine but could be improved.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Since Google runs completely on the browser, you can get into a meeting quickly. In Zoom, we had to skip a few steps and consider whether to run it on the browser or the app. If I launch it in the app, it takes time for the app to launch and then for me to log in.
There are a few steps involved, but with Google, we just have to click on a link. Copying the passcode and entering those passcodes when joining a Zoom call is a bit of a hassle. With Google, you just click on a link and we can join a meeting.
How was the initial setup?
The solution's setup is not the greatest because it requires you to download the app. We wanted to encourage the browser mode of logging in rather than using an app.
What other advice do I have?
The solution is deployed on the cloud in our organization. I would recommend Zoom to other users. You should check out the capabilities and features because there are different options when you subscribe to Zoom. You should check things like the limitation on how many people can log in at a time and breakout sessions before subscribing to ensure that the solution fits your needs.
Overall, I rate the solution a six out of ten.
