What other advice do I have?

Analytics Lead/Tableau Integrator at SOFTICO
Flexible with useful screen sharing and great reliability
Pros and Cons
- "The transcription feature is great."
- "I'd like Microsoft to start adding more AI functionality into Teams."
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution for recording meetings and preparing education for our YouTube channel.
What is most valuable?
It's a very flexible program.
We can do screen sharing very easily.
It's good for recording sessions.
Sometimes, I can't see if a person came into the meeting; however, when I go and look at the session at the end, I can see who has come and gone from the meeting.
The transcription feature is great. I can copy it and create a document out of it.
It's quite stable and issue-free.
The solution can scale.
What needs improvement?
The room feature could be better. I like the visibility we get when we use Zoom, for example. I'd like the rooms to be set up more like that. I'd like more room management features.
I'd like Microsoft to start adding more AI functionality into Teams.
For how long have I used the solution?
I use Teams all of the time for work. I've used it for about two years at this point.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I've never had any issues with stability. There are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution scales well. It's easy to implement new users.
We all use Teams in my company. We have about 80 people using it.
How are customer service and support?
I've never had any issues with the product. I've never had to reach out to technical support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used Zoom in the past for virtual meetings. I only use it occasionally. I have noted some stability issues with it that I haven't noted in Teams. I don't have a license for Zoom. I haven't seen the backend administration features.
How was the initial setup?
I did not handle the setup process. It was automatically deployed to my laptop.
We do not have to do any maintenance tasks. However, we do have an administrator. He may have maintenance tasks.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We have an Office 365 license which includes Teams in the product. I'm not sure of the exact cost of the solution.
What other advice do I have?
I'm an end-user.
I'm not sure which version we're using.
We save our meetings in the cloud when we use the solution.
I would recommend the solution to others. I know that Microsoft has begun to add AI to its products. However, this hasn't happened in Teams just yet. Once they start adding AI, it will become even better - and it's already very good.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

Regional Manager at AKC Enterprise Ltd
Well-known, user-friendly, has good support, and is simple to install
Pros and Cons
- "It's a very simple software that's very easy to understand."
- "We can currently only ping 15, but I'd like to see new features that allow for 20 or 25 pings; that would be good."
What is our primary use case?
We use Microsoft Teams in venture employment and internally we use it on a daily basis to communicate with offices, departments, and anything related to keeping the communication within the organization.
What is most valuable?
It's a very simple software that's very easy to understand.
What needs improvement?
There are a couple of faulty areas that need improvement. The interface could be a little bit more user-friendly.
When you click on files, pictures, or PDFs when someone sends them to you on Teams, they don't always appear on the system; you have to go back and click again. To be able to see pictures and documents for the first time is something that needs to be improved.
One thing I would like to be able to do is ping more conversations than I currently can. We can currently only ping 15, but I'd like to see new features that allow for 20 or 25 pings; that would be good.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Microsoft Teams for a couple of years.
I believe that we are working with the latest version.
It is deployed within the organization.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Microsoft Teams is a stable solution.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
This solution is used by almost everyone in our organization. I would say there are more than 2,500 users.
How are customer service and support?
I once contacted technical support because I needed to change something I didn't have permission to change. That was the only reason I needed to contact them; otherwise, there is no reason.
Out of five, I would rate them a five.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is easy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My understanding is that there are licensing fees, but I'm not sure how much they might be.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Microsoft Teams a nine out of ten because it is software that many people are familiar with. For example, if you have someone who needs to communicate with Teams, they will have the necessary software. There is a limited amount of information on both sides. It's not a lot of information to confuse you; it's straight to the point. It's also very good and easy to use.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable feature of Microsoft Teams is its UI...It is a stable solution."
- "There are a lot of frequent updates, which is a shortcoming of the tool."
What is our primary use case?
In my company, we use Microsoft Teams for one-to-one interaction with team members or to schedule meetings. One can also have stand-up calls or have meeting rooms in Microsoft Teams.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of Microsoft Teams is its UI.
What needs improvement?
There are a lot of frequent updates, which is a shortcoming of the tool. For improvement, there should be a lesser amount of frequent updates in Microsoft Teams.

I have been using Microsoft Teams for three years. I don't remember the version of the solution.

It is a stable solution.

Senior Advisor at a recruiting/HR firm with 11-50 employees
Easy-to-use solution for chat and video conferencing, but lacks stability and scalability
Pros and Cons
- "We like it because it makes it easy to communicate, chat, make video calls, and schedule meetings with people."
- "There could be performance spikes and better reliability. We saw a lot of stability issues."
What is our primary use case?
We use it for many things, including chat, video conferencing, meeting rooms, and file storage. We've got lots of apps loaded in it. We're quite heavy users of it.
What is most valuable?
We like it because it makes it easy to communicate, chat, make video calls, and schedule meetings with people. It is a hell of a lot easier than the business used to be.
What needs improvement?
There could be performance spikes and better reliability. We saw a lot of stability issues.
Microsoft Teams rooms and their updates are highly unreliable. They don't release enough notes about it. They're very buggy, which we find highly frustrating.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft Team for a long period.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
There are a lot of bugs. The app they release is often buggy and frequently experiences downtime.
We have many users on Mac, and Teams for Mac App often crashes. There are still some bugs until you raise a ticket, they fix them, and then they release an update, and it will break again. It's not reliable.
I rate the solution’s stability probably six or seven out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
If you want to include other people, it's so complex. Sometimes, if you want to add guests, they appear as external. You can add individuals as external or guests; they are quite different.
Additionally, the licensing process for adding people can be really complicated; it can take hours to show up. Sometimes, we create a user, and it may take 24 hours before they gain access to what they need. So, it's definitely not easy to scale.
I rate the solution’s scalability a six out of ten.
We have at least 300 people, including all of our external or guest, using the solution.
How are customer service and support?
The customer service is terrible. We've joined a group of 17 other companies with a joint ticket raised with Microsoft for issues with logging people out because of some issues. A big accounting firm was also part of the group, and big law firms were with us. Microsoft has done nothing. It's been three months, and they've not done anything.
How was the initial setup?
My initial response would be to describe the setup as highly complex.
I rate the initial setup a five out of ten, it wasn't simple, it wasn't complex. It fell somewhere in the middle, especially when compared to Zoom. We have extensively used Zoom before, and Zoom is genuinely easy to use, while Microsoft Teams is comparatively more challenging.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Microsoft Teams’s pricing is low.
I rate the pricing four out of ten, where one is low and ten is high.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I’ve used Zoom before.
What other advice do I have?
I better recommend Zoom to other users.
Overall, I rate the solution a six out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
