What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is a scalable solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten. We have small, medium, and enterprise-sized clients using the solution.
How are customer service and support?
I rate the technical support an eight out of ten. There are some problems with the support provided for the solution, so it is not quite easy. It takes some time for them to offer us support.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
On a scale of one to ten for initial setup, where one is difficult, and ten is easy, I rate initial setup as ten since it is very easy.
The deployment process took about ten months. We need six people for implementation, which includes one or two system architects to handle the technical field, while the others are mostly business consultants. For maintenance, we have a team of about 20 people to support our customer base.
What was our ROI?
The solution is worth the money.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I rate the pricing a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is too expensive. It is an expensive tool.
What other advice do I have?
Those planning to use the solution need to fully understand it because it's not quite fit for most customers. Overall, I rate the product a ten out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Detailed processes that capture our policies and enable us to implement our policies in SAP
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable feature is the detail in all of the processes. The solution captures our policies and enables us to implement our policies in SAP. There are different models that address our needs."
- "The Capex and Opex could be improved."
What is our primary use case?
We use this solution for ERP in our business. The solution is deployed on-prem. We have a backup on the cloud through Azure.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is the detail in all of the processes. The solution captures our policies and enables us to implement our policies in SAP. There are different models that address our needs. We have also implemented SuccessFactors for our performance, which is for capital management.
It's a very vast product. It meets almost all our needs.
What needs improvement?
The Capex and Opex could be improved. It would be nice if they cut back on the cost. Otherwise, it's a very good product.
For how long have I used the solution?
We moved to S4HANA in 2020. We have used SAP for a long time.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's very stable. Once you do the right sizing for the infrastructure that is running on the hardware, on the storage, you are good to go. We are running on Hyper Converged. Most of the time, people get the sizing wrong.
If you run out of resources, you may start to experience some slowness. But once you size it right, they're good to go and there aren't any issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's scalable.
How are customer service and support?
For technical support, we recruited a lot of guys who have experience with SAP. We also have support for users. In-house, we're developing our skills so that we can address the needs of some immediate users.
For needs that we can't address, we escalate to support. Other organizations provide that third-level support. But the second level has addressed needs from our super users and other users within the organization.
How was the initial setup?
With SAP, you need to have total planning. Once you have the total planning, SAP is easy to deploy. When people complain that they failed in their deployment, it's because they didn't go the extra mile in planning and leaving no stone left unturned. If you plan it well, you'll have an enjoyable and successful deployment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price could be lower.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate this solution 9 out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Pros and Cons
- "SAP S4HANA provides a solution towards a green industry. They keep making a different version of the solution to meet the needs of different industries, such as automotive and utilities."
- "The solution could have a better user experience. However, they are working a lot on the user experience and they have come up with various applications, such as mobile applications. This was lacking over the last two years."
What is our primary use case?
SAP S4HANA can be used for many things such as financials, accounts payable, accounts receivables, set accounting, management accounting, and banking.
What is most valuable?
SAP S4HANA provides a solution towards a green industry. They keep making a different version of the solution to meet the needs of different industries, such as automotive and utilities.
What needs improvement?
The solution could have a better user experience. However, they are working a lot on the user experience and they have come up with various applications, such as mobile applications. This was lacking over the last two years.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP S4HANA for approximately two years.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable.
There are various modules of functionalities available in SAP S4HANA. However, it might be better for us to only use one or two of the modules at first and scale as needed later.
In one of our implementation, there were 50,000 users using the solution.
How are customer service and support?
The support is very good.
What about the implementation team?
The size of the team needed for the implementation depends on the size of the organization. If the organization is relatively small, we can manage the implementation with one or two skilled technicians, and depending on the complexity of it, it could need more technicians for support.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There is a license to use this solution.
What other advice do I have?
I would highly recommend this solution to others.
I rate SAP S4HANA an eight out of ten.

Helpful technical support, plenty of features, and secure
Pros and Cons
- "The solution is flexible, has a lot of functionality, and has the ability to deliver more security than other comparable solutions."
- "SAP S4HANA is not suitable for all-size companies. If you have a small company there are better fit solutions for your needs."
What is our primary use case?
SAP S4HANA is used as a complete resource planning solution for our organization.
What is most valuable?
The solution is flexible, has a lot of functionality, and has the ability to deliver more security than other comparable solutions.
What needs improvement?
SAP S4HANA is not suitable for all-size companies. If you have a small company there are better fit solutions for your needs.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP S4HANA for approximately five months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We have found that SAP S4HANA is more reliable and stable than other solutions, such as ECC.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support is very good. We have generated support tickets, and they have provided helpful advice and solutions to our problems in a timely manner.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used many other solutions, such as ECC and Business One.
How was the initial setup?
The installation and cloud configuration was straightforward.
We had some issues with the installation of the solution. The implementation partner we were using was in India and they could not travel to where we are in Saudi Arabia because of the Covid-19 pandemic making resolutions difficult. Additionally, the communication was difficult. However, this was not the fault of SAP S4HANA.
What about the implementation team?
We used the S/4HANA implementation team to do the full implementation.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There is a license required for the use of this solution and we are on a monthly subscription. The cost of the solution is expensive compared to other solutions.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend this solution to others. However, they have to make sure it is the right fit for their environment. If they have a small company that has approximately 200 to 300 users then this solution is not the best for them, SAP Business One would be the better choice for their whole business cycle. S/4HANA is for larger-scale companies with more users.
I rate SAP S4HANA an eight out of ten.

Chief Executive Officer at Redment
Highly scalable, stable, and plenty of features
Pros and Cons
- "The functionality of SAP S4HANA is very good when comparing it to others, such as Oracle, Microsoft, and other ERP solutions."
- "Thi solution can improve the Bill of Materials (BOM) and production planning."
What is our primary use case?
SAP S4HANA is a resource-plaining solution that can help with digital transformation by using features, such as robotic process automation. It has very useful functionality but, at the moment, AI is not very natural in the world.
Our company is very large and out of the largest six modules in SAP S4HANA, we use Material Management, Sales and Distribution, Plant Maintenance, Quality Management, Customer Service, and Production Planning.
We use all modules in accounting, for example, Financial Supply Chain Management, Treasury Management, and Project System. In the warehouse, we use Transportation Management and Extended Warehouse Management and in the HR system, we use Personnel Administration, Payroll, and Time Administration.
How has it helped my organization?
SAP S4HANA robotic process automation has helped our organization by reducing approximately 80% of work in the accounting department.
What is most valuable?
The functionality of SAP S4HANA is very good when comparing it to others, such as Oracle, Microsoft, and other ERP solutions.
What needs improvement?
Thi solution can improve the Bill of Materials (BOM) and production planning.
In an upcoming release, the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) in SAP is very simple, and SAP should extend PLM in the ERP system. Additionally, SAP S4HANA should add more advanced features for monitoring in the database, such as in the Oracle solution.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP S4HANA for approximately five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is highly scalable.
We have more than 6,000 people using this solution in my organization.
How are customer service and technical support?
We are not able to use technical support in my country because in Iran it is sanctioned. However, we have not needed the support, the solution has been working well.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of SAP S4HANA is a very complex and time-consuming process. If you want to implement all modules then it will take more than 10 days.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price of the solution is reasonable but some modules can be expensive. When comparing SAP S4HANA to other solutions, such as Oracle, it is not expensive.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have evaluated other solutions, such as Oracle.
What other advice do I have?
I would strongly recommend this solution to others.
I rate SAP S4HANA a nine out of ten.

Vice President, Corporate IT at a manufacturing company with 10,001+ employees
Necessitated us tailoring our processes which has increased efficiency
Pros and Cons
- "Responsive, comprehensive and optimized solution."
- "Lacking in some customizations."
What is our primary use case?
We are in the food business so the solution helps with our business processes as well as the financial aspect - sales, purchasing, manufacturing - all the core business processes across all these modules. I'm the vice president corporate IT and we are customers of SAP.
How has it helped my organization?
I think primarily it helped us work out our out-of-the-box best practices which was a huge benefit. It meant that we tailored our processes in line with those of the standard out- of-the-box solution. And I think overall it has given us much more visibility on our processes, on the data that is produced as a reservable process.
What is most valuable?
I think technically it's a very responsive, comprehensive and optimized solution. It's very fast and the S4 version is much more user friendly on the UI side than the previous versions and it basically provides a better experience. Everything is there and it's up to the user to put it to use.
What needs improvement?
Every business has some unique requirements which can mean customizations are required. What I'd really like to see is the development of an industry specific solution for the food industry, in particular the supply and demand side that's very critical to us, given that there are issues with products that have a shorter shelf life.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using this solution for two years.
What other advice do I have?
My key advice would be to get down your processes first before putting any new system in place. It's important to re-engineer the processes and streamline them before implementing IT solutions, whether it's SAP or any other thing. It's the process side that needs to be dealt with first.
I would rate this solution a nine out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

System Architect at marudham software solutions
Streamline financial operations and supply chain management
Pros and Cons
- "The processing time has been reduced, and the screens have become more intuitive, leading to a faster user experience."
- "SAP S/4HANA is a robust front-end solution compared to other web technologies available. However, screen design in SAP EFI might not be as extensive."
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution for transaction purposes.
How has it helped my organization?
SAP S/4HANA has streamlined financial operations and supply chain management.
What is most valuable?
The processing time has been reduced, and the screens have become more intuitive, leading to a faster user experience. Additionally, the integration has improved by 30%. The introduction of new tools, including cellular apps, has made system configuration and readiness much simpler. Compared to previous versions, the latest upgrades offer enhanced features and pre-configured solutions, making them highly beneficial.
What needs improvement?
SAP S/4HANA is a robust front-end solution compared to other web technologies available. However, screen design in SAP EFI might not be as extensive.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP S/4HANA for one year.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
200 users are using this solution. SAP S/4HANA is scalable, and the availability of support from others reassures us that scalability shouldn't be a problem.
How are customer service and support?
When seeking assistance, we typically prefer to hold an annual company support conference. When requesting support, we ask for the SCC and some additional support.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
The solution is easy to configure.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The product is affordable.
What other advice do I have?
SAP S/4HANA has improved the response time of all applications. This improvement was noticeable within just two months of implementation.
Developing a system can be time-consuming, but once it's developed, a set of licensing elements is in place. Companies in India do not extensively utilize solution management. Consequently, we face challenges in storing documentation alongside our projects within the system. Exploring alternative methods for storing these documents within the project would be beneficial. However, it's important to note that companies in India may not prioritize solution management as extensively as elsewhere.
The data consistency and integration have been addressed effectively. This has greatly supported us without extensive customization regarding invoicing and other features within SAP.
SAP S/4HANA is more like an extensive, sophisticated system than a giant airline. It's designed to handle large-scale operations efficiently. While it's true that smaller businesses may find it more challenging to adopt due to its complexity and cost, many mid-sized and large enterprises are utilizing it. Different deployment options are available, such as on-premise or cloud-based solutions catering to various business needs. Additionally, while SAP S/4HANA is primarily known for its ERP capabilities, it also offers modules for HR management. However, some industries have found the HR implementation process to be cumbersome.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
